Innovative Infection Prevention is led by Dr. Janet Haas PhD, RN, CIC, FSHEA, FAPIC, who has over 20 years of experience in infection prevention and control. Dr. Haas has led several hospital infection prevention departments, and has been a leader in the field of healthcare infection prevention. She has authored several peer-reviewed papers, and has presented nationally and internationally on Infection Prevention topics. Some of her contributions include:

  • Associate Editor of the American Journal of Infection Control (2008-present), the peer-reviewed scientific journal of APIC.
  • New York State Hospital Acquired Infection Reporting Task Force (2005 – 2017)
  •  Greater New York Hospital Association C. difficile Reduction Steering Committee
  •  Co-lead author on the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) and Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) 2014 Compendium of Strategies to decrease hospital infections through Hand Hygiene.
  • Author of the Hand Hygiene chapter in the APIC textbook of Infection Control
